Filmmakers Roddy Tabatabai and John McCarthy created Change for Balance, a production company dedicated to bringing positive change to the world through perceptive films and entertaining media content. Friends since childhood, the two have traveled the globe to capture untold, remarkable stories about courageous people who dedicate their lives to balancing the world for good.
At Change for Balance, our film team creates high-level, quality content for film, television, commercial and other digital platforms. Our work has received over 500 million views online and has been featured in a number of national outlets such as CBS News, NBC Today, MSNBC, Fox, Yahoo, E!, MTV, Buzzfeed, and Upworthy.
Our first feature film, Love & Bananas: An Elephant Story, received rave reviews from the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Hollywood Reporter, the San Francisco Chronicle and Forbes. The film premiered in theaters throughout the U.S. and has toured throughout Europe, Australia, and Asia. Love & Bananas can currently be viewed on STARZ and Itunes.
We partnered with professional surfer and professional fighter Dustin Barca to document his journey from surfer and fighter to activist and politician in Aloha Aina Warrior which received the Audience Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival and will be released in the fall of 2019.
